Strange Dreams
In the years I’ve been studying dreams I’ve been fascinated by the endless possibilities any given dream can take on. A dreamer can find themselves in a past time with people who have passed on, or walk into a building that has long ago been demolished. Anything is possible in a dream, there seems to be no limits.
So then, when I talk to people about their dreams, I’m used to them telling me about things that would absolutely make no sense in waking life. Yet, sometimes tucked in all the common possibilities there are things that defy even my imagination. Here are a few examples of things I have yet to come up with an explanation for.
Hyper Lucid Dreaming. I met a man when I was interviewing random people about dreams and nightmares who had the most incredible hyper lucid dreams. When he told me what normal lucid dreams were for him, I was astounded.
When he started dreaming he would see something like a tunnel of static. Certain images would start showing up around the periphery of his vision. He could then pick and choose which dream images he wanted to enter. Whatever dream image he chose, pulled him into an incredible lucid dream. I was blown away by that, but them he went on to tell me the real kicker. He could choose to enter more than one dream at a time.
Incredible.
Creative Memories. I recently had a dream experience that was new to me. I was back in the town where I attended High School trying to explain something that happened earlier in the dream. I can’t remember exactly who this person was i was trying to explain this to, but the person stopped me and said something like “Don’t you remember? I was there too.”
The very interesting thing about this dream was when the person said that to me i suddenly received a download of new memories to include this person. In an odd sort of way this all seemed normal to me when it happened, yet I suddenly awoke and thought how strange.
As I said earlier, in a dream anything’s possible..
