Icy Cliff
In my blog post last week i asked people to send me dreams I’ve never seen before to demonstrate layers of meaning. Here is the first dream and four layers of meaning I found. I have named the layers: Surface Meaning, Just Below the Surface Meaning, Deeper Meaning and Life Changing Meaning.
Upon reading the dream and the layers of meaning please refer back to my last blog post “A Call to Action.” While these layers are interesting, and may seem obvious to some, the point in revealing layers of meaning in a dream is always a call to act on what the layers are revealing – especially the Deeper Meaning and Life Changing Meaning.
So, with that said, lets see the dream and the layers of meaning.
Dream– Icy Cliff
- I had a dream where there was a huge icy cliff separating a whole civilization of people from making it to the warmer climates. The warmer climates were inhabited by god, specifically giant heads that sat at the top of the cliffs and told us what to do. However, long black vines hung down from the cliff. When I looked closer I realized that the black vines were really thick strands of hair. No one reacted at first, the gods warned us not to climb them and that we should know our place beneath the cliff. I was the first one to step forward, worried at what consequences I might get, but at the same time desperate to climb to the warmer climate. Only seconds later, the entire civilization was behind me, advancing toward the strands of hair hanging down. The cliff went on for miles on end, and the strands of hair came down in specific clumps, like ladders. However, some looked easier to climb than others. I started running down the length of the cliff to find the right strands to climb in all the chaos and madness of everyone else in scaling the massive cliff. I’m running so fast that when I do believe I see a patch of hair I can climb, I cannot stop in time to grab it and I have to keep on running. Eventually I make it to the end of the cliff and turn back and decide to take things slower. I spot a path i can climb and I climb to the top. Once I get up there I see everyone pushing the three godly heads off the cliff. They’re powerless to the people. Once I’m up there it dawns on me that I’ve forgotten something that might cause me trouble later, so I head further up the cliff where no one else has been yet. It turns out that I was the god of this world and created it all, but I was pretending to be a commoner. There was a structure I build on the cliff beyond the giant heads so I decided to destroy it before anyone realized I created it and decipher that I am their real god. I feared that i would have the same fate as the giant heads if people really knew. Later I assumed my role and met up with the other commoners, and no one will ever know that i was their god all along.
End of dream.
- Layers of meaning:
- Surface Meaning — You are someone who goes out of your way to avoid risk.
- Just Below the Surface Meaning — You make your own way to the top by avoiding risk, and reach a warm, comfortable place.
- Deeper Meaning — You would rather suffer loss by your own hand than confront what you fear.
- Life Changing Meaning — The thing that you’ve forgotten that will cause you trouble later is that you are a true leader. But, if you don’t stand up and become true to who you are no matter what the consequences might be, you will end up lost in a crowd of commoners and no one will ever know you as that leader you’re destined to be.
- There are more layers of meaning to this dream, this is simply an example of how the interpretation model you will find here is deeper and more insightful than almost every other site offering interpretations of dreams. Please post comments below.
