Biblical Dream Meaning of the Faceless

As I navigate my dream journey I encounter some of the most unexpected things. Like how God gave a young Buddhist girl a dream in which He revealed Himself to her. As I walked through the dream with her I discovered that asking her the right questions opened up aspects of the dream that revealed the extraordinary measures of God’s love. Although not surprised, I was in awe that we discovered the Biblical dream meaning of a Faceless person as we walked through the dream together.

The Biblical Meaning of Facelessness

The Biblical dream meaning of a faceless person is a spiritual entity of heavenly splendor. There are many references in the Bible to facelessness which include God. This doesn’t mean God doesn’t have a face, faces are perhaps the truest form of identity. Biblical facelessness simply means the face cannot be seen because of radiant, glorious light.

I didn’t realize how popular faceless entities were in dreams until I began to engage dreamers one on one. Most dreamers encounter a faceless man somewhere in the darkness of a frightening dream, which means an evil demonic entity. The dream this Buddhist had when she was seven years old was full of bright light and happy emotions. To top it off, the faceless spiritual entity was quite prominent in the dream. I’m catching myself wanting to tell you the dream, so I might as well start from the beginning.

Just a Dream or Something More?

Here’s the dream:

I’m outside in this really bright and warm place. I’m getting married but I can’t see my husband’s face. All I know is that he had black hair and was really cute. We’re standing at an altar exchanging vows in front of an invisible person who is marrying us. That’s my dream.

It would be easy to assume this dream is the result of the hopes and dreams of a young girl. I mean, what little girl doesn’t dream of her wedding? In other words, it was just a dream.

Yet there was a weightiness to the dream. It seemed as if something more was going on here. Being a naturally curious person, I began asking the dreamer some basic questions such as, had she been to a wedding just before this dream? Being a Buddhist, had she been to very many Christian weddings? Was she in the habit of asking questions as she falls asleep?

She said she hadn’t been to a wedding in a long time before she had the dream. Also, she’d never stepped foot in a Christian church let alone attend a Christian wedding because her mom was a very strict Buddhist. She didn’t want her to have any other religious influence. Many times dreamers will have a dream about an event they attended not long after that event took place, but didn’t seem to be the case. Also dreaming about a Christian wedding without ever having seen one indicates she’s being shown something she doesn’t know by personal experience. This intrigued me so I dug a little deeper.

Unlocking the Mystery

I began to consider the setting of the dream. I found it quite interesting her dream begins in a bright and warm place. It resembled the setting of a couple of God dreams I’d interpreted the week before. God dreams are full of light based on the Biblical reference of God being light. God light carries warmth and peace with it.

Next, I considered the people in the dream. The invisible man who’s performing the wedding is a spiritual authority. Pastors marry couples in a Christian wedding. Then there’s the fact that weddings cannot be performed by just anyone. The person has to be licensed because marriage is a legally binding contract. So the invisible man marrying them is a spiritual and legal authority. Sounds like the Biblical description of God the Father.

Let’s now take a look at the faceless husband the dreamer’s marrying. All she knows about him is that he has black hair and he’s really cute. Based on the Biblical definition of facelessness, the dreamer is marrying a spiritual entity of heavenly splendor. In order to correctly identify this spiritual entity I asked myself if I see this situation in scripture anywhere. Only one thing came to mind. In Ephesians 5:22-33 Paul compares the union of husband and wife to Christ and the church. But wait a minute. This Buddhist girl isn’t part of Christ’s church. How can this dream be saying she’s the bride of Christ?

Here’s a tricky thing about dreams. This young girl’s dream shows she’s being married to Christ, not that she’s not already his bride. It is, however, an invitation for her to become His bride. It’s a very powerful metaphor for someone who doesn’t know that Christ exists. As my amazement began to wear off I then began to ask the question why did this Buddhist girl have this kind of dream? Surely there were multitudes of Buddhist girls dreaming that same night; why her?

Why This Dreamer Had This Dream

To answer this question I resorted to asking her a key question in discovering why this dream and this dreamer. The question is simply: Were you in the habit of asking questions as you fell asleep? She thought for a moment and had the realization that around the time she had this dream she began to have doubts about her Buddhist faith. Her mother was so adamant about Buddhism that it occurred to her to wonder why if she was wrong? This became a worry to her and in her worry she asked a simple childlike question. If an unknown God is out there could you tell me is my mother right or wrong about Buddhism?

A very short time later she had a dream she was marrying this dark haired, cute faceless man. She got her answer when she was seven years old. She didn’t discover why she of all peopled this dream until she talked to me when she was twenty. In a very simple way this young girl asked God to reveal Himself to her. He answered with a beautiful metaphorical picture of His love and His invitation for her to become a part of His Bride.

It was in being inquisitive and asking the right questions that I was able to lead us both on a journey of discovering what this dream meant and why she’d had it. Truth was, she had no way of finding God without this dream. Her mother was pointing her in the way of Buddhism until she began to doubt and asked one question. Providence caused her to never forget that dream and eventually lead her to me all these years later. She’s since become a part of His bride.

What an Angel with No Face Means

Angels appear to humans throughout scripture in two different forms. The first is their angelic appearance which is categorized by blinding light and heavenly splendor. The second is their human appearance where they can easily be mistaken for a human.

When angels appear within your dreams they can take on either of these forms. The human form isn’t always easy to identify in a dream but the one characteristic the angelic possess within dreams that sets them apart from every human is their facelessness.

It’s important to note not every faceless character in your dreams is an angel. However, if the faceless person is helping you get somewhere or accomplishing a task that’s a good sign you’ve encountered an angel.

What does an angel with no face mean? They mean you’re not alone in your journey. You have help in accomplishing what you were put on this earth to accomplish. They could deliver a message to you, as they did to so many in Biblical times, even give you encouragement. Encountering a faceless angel in your dreams also means God sees you in your circumstance and He’s sending you what you need when you need it. Yet not all faceless beings are sent by God to help you.

What a Demon with No Face Means

Dreams are by definition fallen angels. They can disguise themselves as angels of light and be difficult to identify at times. Other times they appear as they actually are in order to terrify dreamers with their grotesquely deformed, ugly selves. Here’s an example.

My son told me that last night he dreamed a monster was on his bed with a black coat, black hat and its face lit up in pink. The monster had no eyes, nose or mouth. After he saw it, it just disappeared.

This very short dream is a classic example of a demon with no face. What does it mean? It means the dream is revealing the demon’s true identity, that is facelessness. To be without a face simply means the demonic being has lost its identity. It was created in perfection but rebelled, and so, lost its original beautiful identity. This identity was lost because the rebellious were cast to earth, separated from God, and disconnected from his life. This demon with no face gas been in a constant state of decay since then.

It also means the demon is looking for someone to represent hell and reproduce itself. A four year old is beginning to discover the world and discover who they are. By visiting this child at such a crucial age the demon is taking advantage of this young child and attempting to imprint its own identity on him.

Whether you encounter a faceless demon, angel, or even God in your dream, you must be able to tell which of these you’re dealing with. Are you afraid in the dream? If so you’re probably dealing with the demonic. Do you feel peace? You’re probably dealing with an angel and God. Look closely at the atmosphere of the dream. Look closely at how the dream causes you to feel. These are big hints to the identity of the faceless person in your dreams.
