A Glimpse Into the Unseen World
Dreams never cease to amaze me. The more I study them and the more dreams I hear one thing becomes more and more clear. Dreams are a treasure hidden in the midst of the obvious.
As we all know dreams incorporate familiar images of places, people, and circumstances we’re familiar with to show us in story form things we may not have known when we went to sleep. But in order to solve the mystery and intrigue of the what the dream presents, you must look beyond the logic bound world to find the unseen.
This “unseen” can mean two different things. First, its what is unseen to us in the dream. Dreams are incredibly paradoxical. Dreams can seem beyond belief at times because you are made to search for that treasure hidden in the midst of the obvious.
The second unseen is the unseen source of the dream.
I’ve discussed the idea that dreams originate from outside of us in several blog posts, and this outside origin comes from a place that is unseen by our eyes but often seen by our heart.
Have you ever woken up from a dream and know that what you just dreamed means something, but you’re not sure what it is? Of course you have. We’ve all woken up from dreams instinctively knowing that they mean something, but our conscious mind is at odds as to what it could be.
Psychologists mistakenly define this as communication between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, when, in fact, it is the difference between our conscious thinking mind and our heart.
We’ve all heard the saying “The heart wants what the heart wants.” I’ve only heard that phrase in reference to romantic feelings, but what if there was something much deeper going on with your heart? What if it were such a deep thing that your heart, the very depth of your being was effected by your dream experience, but it was so deep, so meaningful that it couldn’t be expressed in words? What if the really deep issues of the heart have to be expressed in night parables?
Why night parables? For the simple fact that some things can only reach us from the unseen realm through our heart. That’s why you must look beyond your logic bound world in order to find the unseen. It’s in that unseen realm that touches us ever night we close our eyes and go to sleep that mysteries are unraveled. Often times these mysteries are answers we’re seeking in our waking life and this is just one of the things that makes a single dream a treasure hidden in the midst of the obvious.
